Sizing up the opposite sex
Here’s what men and women notice about each other when their eyes first meet.
No one has understood why women spend so much time dressing up when research and history suggest that men don’t even notice what women wear. For men imagination creates anticipation! This is the reason topless dancers are fully dressed when they perform their first stage dance.
Men need not feel bad about being not-go-good-looking; women are more interested in men who smile a lot. When a woman notices a man, however, rarely are her initial thoughts sexual. Some more differences in the way men and women size each other up:
Thoughts
When men notice a woman in club or bar, two thoughts immediately cross their minds: what she would look liked naked and what she would be like in bed. When women notice a man, two thoughts usually cross their minds: does he look like he has a good job? Does he look like he can hold a good job long enough to benefit them?
Men Look, Women see
Contrary to popular belief, women are more visual than men. They are conditioned to see what they want to see, without stating or being obvious. Men admire; women inspect. Men notice contours and curves. Women notice form and structure. They also notice men’s eyes, hands, teeth, smile and class. Women are more interested in men who look likeable, friendly and genuinely interested in others.
Eye contact
Exchanging eye contact is a critical stage of flirting expressing interest. Women use their eyes to communicate interest in a man. Men, on the other hand, will usually avoid eyes contact with women they are interested in. Although women say they don’t like a man to stare at their bodies, they literally melt when a man they might be interested in the looks deeply into their eyes.
Looks
The belief that women only notice the most handsome or well-built men are a myth. Men who dress to impress, are out going and friendly with others, and display a sense of humour are the once who have the competitive edge.
Smile
Men don’t smile as easily and as often as women do. If a woman is happy or experiences feelings of joy, she smiles. Average-looking people who smile often are more appealing than handsome men or beautiful women who don’t smile. A man’s smile indicates that he is charming, friendly and approachable.
Memory
A man will remember four things after meeting a woman in a club or bar: If he danced with her, if he got he telephone number, if he had sex with her the night he met her. A woman will remember these same things as well after meeting a man. Women however, also remember the following: his initial approach, what he was wearing, if he was wearing cologne, his choice of beverage, if he was a gentleman, if and how he interacted with other men and women and if he made her laugh.
